Getting started
Keep claim, invitation and ownership-transfer links private. They can be time-limited and one-use.
Connecting Wi-Fi
Keep the gadget close enough to the network router for a reliable signal. During the private test, follow the setup instructions supplied with the test gadget. If the gadget stays offline, restart the router and gadget once, then contact the person who provided test access.
Using the remote
Adding channels
The GoodOldTV owner uses the caregiver app to add supported programmes, series, music or playlists and arrange them into a simple order. The television viewer changes between these configured items as channels; they do not browse a streaming-app launcher.
Streaming services
In the caregiver app, open Settings → Streaming services and choose the service. Complete sign-in and profile selection on the provider’s own page shown on the television, then tap Sign-in and profile ready.
Troubleshooting
Check that the television and gadget have power and that the correct television input is selected.
Press mute once, then try volume up. Check whether sound works on another television input.
Check the remote battery and try closer to the gadget. Some television power and volume actions depend on television compatibility.
Check that the gadget is online and that the relevant streaming service is still signed in. Compatibility can change when a provider updates its website.
If the problem continues, contact support.
